The 'World Peace Festival: the 6th Culture and Sports Celebration of Restoring light' shows the heaven's culture.
Because of her long and rich 9,000-year history,
Korea has many valuable cultural heritages.
And they have been revealing so many surprising and interesting things
that are based on the 6,000-year histroy of the Bible.
I'd like to share the story about the Korean lamp (lantern) today.
that are called 'chung-sa-cho-rong'. >
‘Chung-sa-cho-rong (청사초롱 in Korean)’ is a traditional Korean lantern
that was used by public officials to light their way when they went out at night
and for guests when they came and went during the dark hours.
It means that the lantern adds light in the dark
and acts as a guide to the right path, brighter future, hope, respect;
it further symbolizes a host’s thoughtfulness in warm welcoming guests.
It was also used by the common people at wedding ceremonies.
A young bridegroom would carry a chung-sa-cho-rong as he rode a horse
to his bride's home for the wedding ceremony,
and it would also be carried along with the palanquin
that took the bride to her husband's home.
The lantern is made by rounded or square wood or steal form,
covered by red and blue color of silk shades with hanging candle inside it.
The lantern's blue and red silk shade symbolized wedded bliss,
the blue standing for yin, the female principle,
and the red standing for yang, the male principle.
